Natural Ways to Lower Blood Pressure

Natural Ways to Heal High Blood Pressure
Did you know that there are natural ways to lower blood pressure?  Blood pressure literally is the second most common reason that people seek medical treatment with their doctors in the US.  I’ve had people come to see me with this challenge for years.  However, lately, it has increased significantly and so I felt moved to write about it here and offer what suggestions I could to serve anyone interested in natural ways to lower blood pressure from both a supplemental and energetic approach.

What is high blood pressure

A person has high blood pressure when the systolic pressure reading is 140 or above and the diastolic pressure is 90 or above. Of course both being high indicates high blood pressure; however this is true if only one of these numbers is over as well.  When the heart beats and exerts force on the arterial walls this is the systolic pressure.  When the heart is at rest, less pressure is put on the arterial walls this is the diastolic pressure.  The majority of people with hypertension/high blood pressure also show an increased resistance (lack of elasticity) in their arterioles, the small arteries furthest from the heart that take your blood with its oxygen and nutrients to the tissue of your body.

Stress in the Body

Medical Causes:

Medically speaking if you have a family history of high blood pressure you are more likely to have challenges with this yourself.  Several major factors attributed to causing high blood pressure are smoking, older age (can’t really avoid that one J), thyroid and adrenal disorders, lack of exercise, obesity, chronic kidney disease, and excessive alcohol and salt consumption.  If you are under medical care there are also medicines and supplements that may increase your blood pressure such as acetaminophen, antidepressants, hormonal birth control, caffeine, decongestants, immune-suppressants, stimulants, NSAIDs and many illegal drugs.

Energetic Causes:

Stress - I cannot begin to stress how the stress kills you - lol.  All joking aside when we stress, our breathing pattern changes and our bodies start to contract.  We contract our energy, we contract our muscles, and all of our other body systems start to do their version of contraction.  Have you ever felt your neck and shoulders really tighten when you’ve been stressed?  Or noticed you stopped breathing?  Perhaps, you’re tightening your jaw?  Now, realize you’re not just contracting your muscles, your arteries are tightening – stiffing from the stress as well.  Stress is created when we are not in our natural state of love, when we are not centered in our being.  The energy of blood breaks down to b-love. So it is a deep pressure on how to be love.  Stress is any pressure we place on ourselves or a reaction to feelings of being weighed down from others or situations that take us out of our natural state of love.  It’s that simple.

Natural Ways of Healing High Blood Pressure and Stress:

You can shift out of stress and start relaxing the contraction within your body that creates high blood pressure in many ways.  Different things work for different people.  Here are several suggestions to consider:

  • You can have massages that focus on lymph drainage and breaking apart the fascia to help correct and loosen the muscles and this also affects the arteries.
  • You can exercise your cardiovascular system to help force the movement of the blood in your system, essentially internally massaging your circulatory system.
  • You can start a meditation practice to help calm your whole body and bring wellness and balance to all of you. This shifts the breathing pattern and lowers the stress. Better yet, you can see what is stressing you out and let it go. If you are not sure how to do this I have two blogs listed below that will be very useful for you to help heal yourself.
  • Go to a retreat and dig deep on learning what your triggers are and how to shift these. We offer a powerful retreat to serve you in breaking this apart called Clearing the Core that is offered yearly and helps you get to the pieces you can't even clearly see for yourself (next retreat TBA for 2021). Even if you go camping or on a silent retreat this can be of huge benefit.

How to Heal Deep Seeded Emotional Triggers

If you are looking for a supplement regimen to lower your blood pressure here is what I often recommend to people healing this for themselves (though I feel it wise to be medically supervised as well). Of course please check with your doctor for any contrary-interactions with medicines that you may be taking:

  1. Serrapeptase - 250,000 SPU 2 times a day on an empty stomach
  2. Nattokinase
  3. Turmeric (for inflammation
  4. Liquid chlorophyll
  5. Cholestene (red yeast rice) - 600 mg per day
  6. Kwai Garlic 1.8mg per day
  7. CoQ10 45-60 mg per day ( it widens blood vessels and increases the nitric oxide in the system and works well with Garlic)
  8. Potassium 500 - 1,000 mg daily (balances the salt in the body)
  9. Magnesium 500 mg per day (Most older men with HP don't have enough in their system and it helps consistently lower blood pressure) Please know I recommend this for women as well as it helps relax muscle and build bones.
  10. Vitamim D3 500IU this also reduces blood pressure

Although not a supplement, another amazing food to help with high blood pressure is dark chocolate. It’s ORAC score is off the charts (oxygen radical absorbance capacity). It even blows green tea and blueberries out of the water with this as chocolate has 13,120 per 100 grams while blueberries have 2,400 and its 4x greater than green tea. It also has the highest concentration of magnesium in any food. The key is to make sure you are eating chocolate that is at least 70% cocoa though it is far better to have it between 80-87%.  Get a bar that is organic with the least amount of sugar. Also limit your intake to 1.5  oz. per day at most. You can add raw cacao to your smoothie or even make your own chocolate bars at home.  Here is a great little recipe to make your own healthy chocolate bars.
